Akasa Air inaugurated phase two of its training and development centre – Akasa Air Learning Academy (AALA) in Gurugram, to enhance its capabilities in providing hands-on and experiential training to its fast-growing employee base including pilots, cabin crew, engineers and airport services and security personnel.
In July 2022, ahead of its commercial launch, Akasa Air had invested in a 14,000sq feet, dedicated Learning Academy, to deliver training on various aspects of safety, service, and quality. This new facility adds another 20,000 sq. ft of world-class, technologically forward, learning capabilities for the modern aviation world. The expansion builds capabilities for Akasa Air to train over 700 future-ready aviation professionals.
India’s only door trainer for next generation aircraft
Some of the new training features include India’s only door trainer for next generation aircraft showing Akasa’s continued commitment to world class safety.
The state-of-the-art door trainer enables the cabin crew to practice normal and emergency situations in a realistic environment. Hands on operation, practical training, on Type I main door and Type III automatic over wing exit is provided, in addition to the simulation of regular flight phase scenarios such as push back, taxi, cruise, descent and landing along with pre-recorded announcements. The door trainer is equipped to simulate multi-scenario emergency situation management.
Making training even more effective with real-world environments, the trainer matches the operational characteristics of the aircraft equipment and is designed to facilitate cabin crew with the highest possible levels of safety and emergency training.

Akasa’s training facilities have been designed with the philosophy of holistic learning and development for the airline’s employees. Both these facilities equip the airline to offer regulatory as well as safety, service and operational training covering service excellence, leadership, communication, departure control system, safety & emergency procedures, first aid, advanced computerised reservation & check-in training.
The training modules at AALA are designed by some of the industry’s finest faculty with rich experience and expertise to provide Akasa Air employees with the knowledge and skills required to achieve greater success in the airline business across various roles. The learning academy is set up to be a centre of excellence that will equip Akasa’s employees to deliver on its brand promise of being the most dependable airline through its signature, empathy led service culture.
The facility has multiple large-sized training rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology, an impressive library of aviation knowledge resources such as manuals and research case studies, breakouts rooms, booths and relaxation areas. It will also include a mock-up of the Akasa Air’s aircraft cabin for service training.
