Transforming airport operations – secure, efficient, passenger-centric and sustainable solutions

Munich, 30th Sept 2025:

At the upcoming inter airport Europe exhibition in Munich next week, the Italian Pavilion will showcase leading Italian aviation partners, presenting innovative solutions that tackle today’s most pressing airport challenges.

From digitization and cybersecurity to efficiency, passenger experience, and sustainable operations, Italian companies are driving transformation across the aviation sector.

The need is urgent: EUROCONTROL’s cyber team (EATM-CERT) logged 6,320 aviation cyber events in its most recent report, underlining the rising tide of cyberattacks in aviation. At the same time, safety risks continue to generate delays and increase workloads.

This comes as airports accelerate their shift toward full digitization, aimed at improving efficiency and elevating the passenger journey, elements that lie at the heart of the focus and development of solutions at the leading Italian aviation companies for the global market. Together, these companies are creating solutions that are safe, efficient, and passenger-centric.

At the Pavilion, visitors will discover how a united network of specialized Italian aviation suppliers can deliver end-to-end expertise and technologies, helping airports worldwide become more resilient, future-ready, and focused on passengers. These are not isolated products, but interconnected solutions that address today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.

Examples include:

* Cybersecurity & IT systems that safeguard airport infrastructure in line with NIS2 requirements.
* Advanced passenger processing technologies, such as biometric-enabled check-in and border control solutions, reducing wait times and enhancing flow.
* Smart baggage handling and logistics platforms that boost efficiency while cutting mishandling costs.
* Sustainable ground support equipment (GSE) and energy-efficient systems designed to lower emissions on the apron.
* Integrated airport management software enabling operators to monitor, predict, and optimize operations in real time.
* The Italian Pavilion, organized by the Italian Trade Agency, will serve as a hub of innovation, collaboration, and Italian excellence in the aviation industry.
