The revamped UDAN scheme is set to enhance air travel access in underserved regions, further fuelling growth. Under the new version of the scheme, 120 new destinations will be added, connecting 4 crore passengers over the next 10 years. India’s air passenger traffic rose 11% Y-O-Y to 1.46crore in January, highlighting the urgent need for advanced airport infrastructure and efficient passenger management solutions. Suresh Khadakbhavi, CEO, Digi Yatra Foundation says, “India’s airport landscape is undergoing a remarkable transformation driven by innovation, enhanced connectivity, and sustained policy focus. In just a decade, the number of operational airports has more than doubled, from 74 to nearly 160, underscoring the scale of opportunity.
