Akasa Air announces exciting Pay Day Sale

Delhi, January 31, 2025: Akasa Air has announced its Pay Day Sale, offering attractive discounts on fares across its domestic and international network. This limited-time sale is the perfect opportunity to explore new destinations or revisit favourite ones. The offer includes: • All-inclusive (one-way) fares starting from INR 1499 for domestic routes • Up to 25% on the basic fare for flight bookings on international sectors using the promo code PAYDAY The sale is valid for ‘Saver’ and ‘Flexi’ fares on bookings made between 31st January 2025 and 3rd February 2025 for travel starting from 7th February 2025. Bird Aero Services FZCO Dubai appointed as the GSA of VietJet Thailand in the UAE

Dubai,January 29th, 2025: Bird Travels has announced the appointment of Bird Aero Services FZCO, Dubai, U.A.E as the General Sales Agent of VietJet Thailand in United Arab Emirates. Bird Aero Services FZCO, the second Middle Eastern arm of Bird Group, complementing Bird Travels Private Limited, India’s largest airline management company, is serving successfully as the Passenger Sales Agent of VietJet in the UAE market since July 2024. It will now represent VietJet Thailand and support the airline in establishing its footprint in the UAE market, providing inter alia, airline management and representation services.

Air India and Kenya Airways enter codeshare partnership

Gurugram/ Nairobi, 30 January 2025: Air India and Kenya Airways has entered into a codeshare partnership to boost seamless travel between India and Africa.The codeshare partnership complements the existing interline agreement between the two carriers. The codeshare and interline partnerships together allow passengers of both airlines to enjoy convenient access to a wider range of destinations across regions, leveraging a single ticket and a unified baggage policy for a hassle-free travel experience. As part of the codeshare agreement, Air India will place its ‘AI’ designator code on twice daily flights between Nairobi and Mumbai operated by Kenya Airways, which will seamlessly connectpassengers via Mumbai on Air India-operated flights to or from Bangkok (Thailand), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Malé (The Maldives), Melbourne (Australia), and Singapore.These are in addition to existing connections that passengers from Nairobi can take to several other destinations within and outside of India via Delhi, when flying Nairobi to Delhi with Air India. The new agreement also enables Kenya Airways to place its ‘KQ’ designator code on Air India-operated flights between Delhi and Nairobi, thus enabling Kenya Airways passengers from across Africa to travel to Delhi via Nairobi. “Deepening our partnership with Kenya Airways aligns perfectly with Air India’s strategic vision of expanding our global footprint and strengthening our position in key markets”, said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India. “Our codeshare partnership will provide significant benefit to guests of both airlines, and also contribute to the overall growth of air travel between India and Africa.” The interline agreement between Air India and Kenya Airways enables passengers to seamlessly travel on a single itinerary between any of 28 points in Africa (Accra, Addis Ababa, Dar Es Salaam, Harare, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Seychelles, Kilimanjaro, Mombasa, and Zanzibar to name a few), and any of 15 points in India (Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad to name a few). “We are delighted to expand our partnership Air India, that will open up significant opportunity for our passengers. This codeshare agreement allows us to offer seamless connections to a wider range of destinations across both airlines’ networks, making travel easier and more convenient” said Julius Thairu, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, Kenya Airways. Air India and Kenya Airways plan to progressively add other destinations in their networks to the codeshare agreement. The codeshare flights are available for booking through Air India’s and Kenya Airways’ respective booking channels and through travel agents.

Air India to restart flights to Tel Aviv from March 2025

GURUGRAM, 29 January 2025: Air India today announced it will resume its non-stop services between Delhi and Tel Aviv from 02 March 2025. Air India will operate 5x weekly to Tel Aviv, using its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft that offer 18 flat beds in Business Class and 238 spacious, cushioned seats in Economy Class. Air India’s decision to resume operations on the Delhi-Tel Aviv route follows the requisite approvals.

BEL receives orders worth Rs. 531 Crores

Bengaluru, January 29, 2025: Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured additional orders worth Rs.531 Crores since the last disclosure on 13th January, 2025. Major orders include advanced Composite Communication System for ship, Communication equipment, Medical Electronics, Electro Optics, Active Radar Homing Head for missiles, Class Room Jammers, Spares, Services, etc. With these orders, BEL has now accumulated orders totalling Rs. 10,893 Crores in the current financial year.

BLR Airport Recognised as India’s First Airport to Achieve ACI Accessibility Accreditation

Bengaluru, January 22, 2025: Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB/BLR Airport) has become the first airport in India to receive Level 1 Accreditation under the Airports Council International (ACI) Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation (AEA) Program. Experia Events to host inaugural Business Aviation Asia Forum and Expo 2025 in Singapore

SINGAPORE, 20th January 2025: Experia Events has announced to host the inaugural Business Aviation Asia Forum and Expo (BAAFEx) from 4th to 6th March 2025 at Singapore’s Changi Exhibition Centre. Aircraft maker Boeing Business Jets intend to have aircraft on static display while aircraft operators VistaJet and Amber Aviation have confirmed to have aircraft on static display. VistaJet will have its flagship Bombardier Global 7500 on static display while Amber Aviation will display a Gulfstream G450. The business aviation market in Asia Pacific continues to soar, driven by increasing travel demand and investment in the region. There were around 1,200 business jets based in Asia Pacific, as of the end of 2023; solidifying the region as the world’s third-largest market behind North America and Europe. Vista, a leading global business aviation group and parent company of VistaJet, saw total number of flights increase by 20% year-on-year in the first three quarters of 2024. Southeast Asia has been a particular hotspot for growth, with its business jet fleet expanding by approximately 5% per annum in recent years. “The response from the major aircraft manufacturers, aircraft management and aircraft operators to BAAFEx 2025 has been very positive. The consensus is that Asia Pacific, being the third largest market for business jets, warrants having its own show dedicated to business aviation,” says Leck Chet Lam, Managing Director of Experia Events. “Besides the major aircraft manufacturers, aircraft, management companies and operators, we have worked to sign up companies representing the entire business aviation ecosystem,” adds Leck. Air Astana launches new flight from Almaty to Guangzhou

Astana, 20th January 2025: Air Astana is set to expand its China network with the launch of a new service from Almaty to Guangzhou on 30th March 2025. Flights to Guangzhou will be operated using Airbus A321LR aircraft three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with departure from Almaty at 20.50 and arrival in Guangzhou at 05.45 next day. The return flight will depart Guangzhou at 06.50 and arrive in Almaty at 10.20. All times local. Economy class return fares including taxes start at US$531, whilst Business class fares return fares including taxes start at US$1,561. “China has always been a strategically important market for Air Astana, with strong business and leisure traffic growth since the first service was launched between Astana and Beijing more than 20 year ago,” said Peter Foster, Chief Executive of Air Astana. “The launch of the new service to Guangzhou represents a very significant step in expanding Air Astana’s China network.” Guangzhou is the largest industrial center in China, a global leader in textile industry and an important economic and cultural hub with a history spanning more than 2,000 years. The city is located 120 km northwest of Hong Kong. Air Astana currently operates seven weekly flights to Beijing from Almaty and Astana and four weekly flights to Urumqi from Almaty. Kazakhstan citizens can travel in China for up to 30 days without a visa. The front cover highlights three different images, first for the Union Civil Aviation Minister ….. who is leading from the front to steer Indian Civil Aviation sector to witness one of the most interesting phases. He is also facing most tumultuous timing due to the ongoing financial stress in the Aviation sector due to ATF rising cost and long airspace restrictions resulting in mounting losses for Indian carriers. Despite of all the ground level challenges,the minister is addressing new things on regular basis which keeps the sector motivated. We have featured many such developmental works in this edition done under his guidance which will be interesting to read.
