Explore Commercial Aviation Opportunities Across Africa and the Middle East at Egypt International Airshow 2024

Cairo, 7th March 2024:

Egypt is going to organise its first international airshow and exhibitions at the new El Alamein International Airport from 2nd to 5th September 2024 and will showcase the nation’s leadership as a key hub for the regions commercial aviation sector.

Organised in close collaboration with strategic partners, The Ministry of Civil Aviation, Egypt International Airshow offers a unique platform, to contribute to the long-term commitments made by government and the private sector, fostering commercial partnerships across Egypt, as well as the wider Middle East, and African regions.

Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy recently stated that Egypt’s civil aviation sector is undergoing an extensive development plan to boost its regional and global presence. With numerous projects aimed at expanding services, enhancing airport capacity, sustainability, and modernisation of Egyptair’ s fleet, these strategic initiatives aim to maximise revenue and turn Egypt into a hub for tourism and investment.

With this in mind, senior representatives from leading carriers, Ministries of Civil Aviation, Ministries of Transport, and Civil Aviation Authorities will attend the event, to discuss common challenges and opportunities, they will be joined by renowned Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and suppliers from the global aerospace industry, offering leading solutions and services. In this regard, the Airshow aims to foster a global exchange of expertise amongst these prominent players. The 4-day event will feature aircraft displays, cutting-edge technologies, innovative aircraft designs and an exhibition of innovative commercial aerospace products and services. Additionally, the Airshow provides a unique platform for signing agreements, fostering collaborations, and conducting meaningful business interactions.

During the signing ceremony of Egyptair as the Official Carrier of Egypt International Airshow, Eng. Yehia Zakaria, Chairman & CEO, Egyptair Holding Company stated: “Egypt Air is the Official Carrier of Egypt International Airshow and holds a pivotal role in the event, bringing together diverse sectors of the aviation industry. Our aim is to exchange visions and ideas with civil aviation experts, major airlines, aircraft and engine manufacturers, and aviation service providers. The inaugural edition symbolises Egypt’s commitment to the progression of air transport and advancing the aerospace industry regionally and globally.”

Alongside the main exhibition, there will be a Civil Aviation Conference, a premier gathering of aviation industry professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders from around the world. With a focus on supporting the growth and advancement of civil aviation in the MENA region, fleet modernisation and sustainability, the conference aims to explore innovative solutions, address challenges, and foster cooperation.

Focusing on the full spectrum of commercial aviation, defence and space, Egypt International Airshow is poised to become the leading Airshow on the continent. With the support of all key stakeholders and a having already attracted significant interest from the industries global players, it is anticipated that over 250 local, regional, and international companies will attend. El Alamein International Airport will host VIP chalets, a static aircraft park, thrilling flying displays, and an aerospace exhibition showcasing the latest industry technologies.

The current edition of Aviation World has covered many areas of Aerospace & Defence based on the latest development in the sector. The front cover highlights three different images, first for the Union Civil Aviation Minister ….. who is leading from the front to steer Indian Civil Aviation sector to witness one of the most interesting phases. He is also facing most tumultuous timing due to the ongoing financial stress in the Aviation sector due to ATF rising cost and long airspace restrictions resulting in mounting losses for Indian carriers. Despite of all the ground level challenges,the minister is addressing new things on regular basis which keeps the sector motivated. We have featured many such developmental works in this edition done under his guidance which will be interesting to read.

Our lead story on “ The West War” is another important feature which covers the ground level reality of the challenges faced by the Aviation sector. Its though time ahead and we believe it will pass soon .
