3rd Edition of Helicopter Summit to be held in Dehradun on 27th August 2021

New Delhi, 14th July 2021:

FICCI in association with Ministry of Civil Aviation and Pawan Hans Ltd are organizing the third edition of Helicopter Summit on Friday, 27th August 2021. The summit will be held in a Phygital (Physical +Digital) format at Dehradun, Uttarakhand and timing will be betwenn: 1100 to 1400 hrs IST.

The summit is being organised with an objective to boost the helicopter industry in India. Civil helicopters play a vital role in the development of the economy. The global demand for both civil & military helicopters record a new high, which enhances the scope of helicopters industry in India. Today, with the advancement in technology, modern helicopters can be used in various ways. The requirement of helicopters for civil use is also sizeable with growing requirements in tourism, mining, corporate travel, air ambulance, homeland security and air charter etc.

The summit will have the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and the entire ecosystem of the aviation industry including the operators, MRO providers, regulators, Financing & Leasing companies. It will be platform to bring together all the stakeholders of the industry and exchange their ideas to take the sector to the highest level.

The broad objectives of the Summit are:
* Providing a common platform for all industry stakeholders, policy makers to discuss the growth story of Indian Helicopter
industry (India@75), the issues, challenges and brainstorming solutions for the way ahead.

* Enhancing the scope of Regional Connectivity Scheme in remote areas, hilly terrains and, also expanding the rural to
urban connectivity in the country.

* Boost tourism in the Himalayan states by providing uninterrupted helicopter services to the tourist
hotspots and encouraging Helicopter-based emergency medical services (HEMS) in India.

* Enhancing the role of Helicopters in supporting other industries

* Showcasing the latest technology in the helicopter industry

The current edition of Aviation World has covered many areas of Aerospace & Defence based on the latest development in the sector. The front cover highlights three different images, first for the Union Civil Aviation Minister ….. who is leading from the front to steer Indian Civil Aviation sector to witness one of the most interesting phases. He is also facing most tumultuous timing due to the ongoing financial stress in the Aviation sector due to ATF rising cost and long airspace restrictions resulting in mounting losses for Indian carriers. Despite of all the ground level challenges,the minister is addressing new things on regular basis which keeps the sector motivated. We have featured many such developmental works in this edition done under his guidance which will be interesting to read.

Our lead story on “ The West War” is another important feature which covers the ground level reality of the challenges faced by the Aviation sector. Its though time ahead and we believe it will pass soon .
