Vjaitra Air Mobility Partners with Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc.

Delhi, 30th August 2024: Supporting India’s Net Zero goals and country’s ambition to be a pioneer in the air taxi revolution by 2025,Vjaitra Air Mobility, a division of DarshDronobotics Systems Pvt Ltd has announced its strategic partnership with Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc.Indian startup Vjaitra Air Mobility is dedicated to developing next-generation air mobility solutions. Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc. is a innovation and investment firm based in Canada. This collaboration is focused on the development of a pioneering hydrogen-based 5-seaterair taxi, a significant leap forward in sustainable urban air mobility. The partnership also aims at combating climate change and reducing carbon emissions in the mobility and aviation sector. As part of this partnership, Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc. will play a pivotal role in supporting DarshDronobotics Systems in raising the necessary funds to build a full-scale prototype of the Hydrogen Air Taxi. This ground-breaking project is set to redefine the future of urban transportation, offering an eco-friendly and efficient alternative to traditional modes of travel. This is the future of Urban Air Mobility (UAM), facilitating seamless and efficient taxi operations. These air taxis promise quieter flights, zero emissions, and reduced operating costs as compared to conventional aircraft.These innovative air taxis will also be capable of covering distances of up to 600 KM, making them ideal for travel between Delhi-NCR to Lucknow and other states capitals as well as other metropolitan city airports. “We are excited to join forces with Trouvé Innovation Hub Inc. in this visionary project,” said Mr. RatandeepTripathi, CEO of Vjaitra Air Mobility. “Their support in fundraising and innovation will be instrumental in bringing our hydrogen-based air taxi to life, aligning with our commitment to sustainable and cutting-edge transportation solutions.” This collaboration will be focused on: Development of Hydrogen Air Taxi: The collaboration will focus on creating a full-scale prototype of a 5-seater air taxi powered by hydrogen fuel, which promises to significantly reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable transportation. Worldwide Flight Services expands capacity at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

Amsterdam, 30 August 2024: Worldwide Flight Services Holland (WFS), a member of the SATS Group, is expanding its presence in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), with the proposed acquisition of Menzies World Cargo (Amsterdam) B.V., Menzies Aviation’s general cargo handling operations at AMS, the main international airport in the Netherlands. The proposed acquisition will increase the warehouse capacity and cargo handling capabilities for WFS in one of Europe’s busiest air cargo locations. The additional warehouse will provide incremental capacity for WFS which will enable it to capitalise on its strong local customer relations and service levels, and position itself for growth over the long-term. “WFS has served Amsterdam Airport Schiphol since 2000 and is now operating at close to maximum capacity. The station expansion at the Dutch ‘mainport’ for air cargo is an important strategic milestone which will give WFS the capacity and capability to deliver long-term value to our stakeholders,” said John Batten, Chief Executive Officer, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia (EMEAA) at WFS. “WFS operates in Europe’s five largest airports by cargo volume and we are excited to see WFS enlarge its footprint at a time of strong demand for its services. We are optimistic that the business pipeline will soon fill the newly acquired capacity and take WFS to the next stage of its growth. We look forward to welcoming new colleagues from Menzies to help build for the future together,” Mr Batten added. AMS has the largest cargo storage capacity among Dutch airports, operates more direct cargo flights to more destinations than any other airport in the Netherlands and is well- connected with international road, rail, and canal routes passing through the airport. The proposed acquisition is subject to certain conditions including local works council consultation.

SriLankan Airlines Delights Samanera Monks with Special Airport Tour

Colombo, Sept 2024: SriLankan Airlines with the support of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) hosted a large group of Buddhist child monks, or ‘Samaneras,’ with a special guided tour of the airport and their first opportunity to board an aircraft. This event coincided with the airline’s 45th anniversary on 1 September 2024, adding to its significance in the airline’s history. The group, consisting of monks aged five and older from the Ganewatta Purana Rajamaha Viharaya in Waskadubedda, Deldoova, Kalutara was accompanied by several Venerable Theros and volunteers from SriLankan Airlines. During the tour, the young monks were guided through the Bandaranaike International Airport, where officials explained various ground operations. They also had the opportunity to board a SriLankan Airlines’ Airbus A320 parked on the tarmac, giving each young monk their first experience of both the airport environment and boarding an aircraft. In keeping with religious traditions, the group of Samaneras and Theros were offered a special almsgiving (Dana) and pirikara in the airport’s Silk Route Arrival Lounge. The almsgiving was attended by SriLankan staff volunteers, members of the airline’s senior management team and senior managers from Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka).

Aventure Acquires 24th Boeing 737NG

Peachtree City, Georgia USA,August 24, 2024 Aventure Aviation has acquired its twenty-fourth Boeing 737NG airframe, which will be dismantled for parts in Coolidge, Arizona. This 737-700 aircraft, MSN 32934, was last operated by China Southern Airlines. This will be the second of two Boeing 737NG airframes operated by China Southern Airlines that Aventure has purchased this summer. “With the acquisition of these planes for teardown, Aventure continues to offer a substantial amount of fresh inventory to support Boeing 737NG aircraft operators,” said Ebrahim Zakaria, business development director. “We are proud to support our customers with incoming material even as supply looks more and more uncertain with the current geopolitical and economic climate,” continued Zakaria. “These additions to our inventory helps us in supplying rotable parts to airlines so they can keep their operations running smoothly.” Aventure Aviation is in active discussions with owners, financial institutions, lessors, and airlines to find revenue-generating teardown solutions for idle aircraft. Aventure will attend the Air Carriers Purchasing Conference (ACPC), taking place August 24–27 in Dallas, Texas. Representatives will be available to discuss parts supply solutions with airlines, and seek synergies with MRO shops to assist with the significant number of parts Aventure is outsourcing for refurbishment.

Akasa Air commences operations in Kuwait from Mumbai

Mumbai, 24th August 2024: Akasa Air has announced commencement of operations in Kuwait City, capital of Kuwait, connecting it with Mumbai with daily direct flights. The inaugural flight on 23rd August 2024, departed Mumbai at 1950hrs IST and arrived at Kuwait International Airport in Kuwait City at 2200hrs AST. In an event held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to flag off the maiden flight, a ceremonial lamp was lit in the presence of members of Akasa Air’s Executive Committee and a special boarding pass was presented to the first passenger on the inaugural flight.

Air Astana boosts services to Phuket

Astana, 23rd August 2024: Air Astana will launch direct scheduled flights from Astana to Phuket, Thailand’s largest resort island on 26th October 2024. The new service will be operated three times a week and is additional to the existing Almaty to Phuket service, which currently operates five times a week and will go daily on 26th October 2024. The new service from Astana will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with departure at 21:40 and arrival in Phuket at 07:45 next day. The return flight will depart Phuket on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 09:30 and arrive in Astana at 16:10. All times local. The flight duration is 8 hrs 5 mins outbound to Phuket and 8hrs 40 mins on the return sector. All Phuket flights will be operated by Airbus A321LR aircraft configured with 16 business class seats and 150 economy class seats. The fully lie-flat seats in business class and ergonomic seats in economy class offer passengers enhanced comfort and are equipped with individual entertainment system screens. The cost of round-trip Economy tickets including all fees starts at US$ 698. Tickets are already available for purchase on the airline’s website or through authorised travel agencies.

IAG Cargo opens new Operations Control Centre at London Heathrow

London, 21st August 2024: IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), announced the opening of its brand new, cutting-edge control centre sitting at the centre of its largest hub at London Heathrow. The new London Operations Control Centre will significantly improve on the day decision making with comprehensive real-time data and workload forecasting tools used by teams managing over 2,000 freight movements per day allowing them to take proactive action to mitigate risks to the operation. At the heart of this facility sits the latest in audio-visual and data visualisation technology at every workstation, along with a new digital wall to improve the control team’s coordination, situational awareness and visualisation of key operational data. This investment will support positive changes in operational efficiency, allowing teams to quickly view real-time positioning of all freight and equipment across the vast London Heathrow hub, as well as key data from various operational systems, all within a centralised platform. David Rose, Director of London Operations at IAG Cargo said, “The opening of our new London Operations Control Centre is the latest example of IAG Cargo’s investment in our commitment to be a customer-led and operationally efficient business and a great place to work for our teams. The current edition of Aviation World has covered many areas of Aerospace & Defence based on the latest development in the sector. The front cover highlights three different images, first for the Union Civil Aviation Minister ….. who is leading from the front to steer Indian Civil Aviation sector to witness one of the most interesting phases. He is also facing most tumultuous timing due to the ongoing financial stress in the Aviation sector due to ATF rising cost and long airspace restrictions resulting in mounting losses for Indian carriers. Despite of all the ground level challenges,the minister is addressing new things on regular basis which keeps the sector motivated. We have featured many such developmental works in this edition done under his guidance which will be interesting to read.

Our lead story on “ The West War” is another important feature which covers the ground level reality of the challenges faced by the Aviation sector. Its though time ahead and we believe it will pass soon .
