Rajnath Singh to co-chair 4th India-France Annual Defence Dialogue

New Delhi, 26th Nov 2022: Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh will co-chair 4th India-France Annual Defence Dialogue with the Minister of Armed Forces of the French Republic Mr. Sebastien Lecornu on his visit to India from 26-28 November, 2022. The visiting French Minister shall also meet External Affair Minister and the National Security Advisor. This is the first visit of Mr Sebastien Lecornu as French Minister of Armed Forces to India. He is also scheduled to visit Headquarters Southern Naval Command at Kochi and see India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. India and France have close and friendly relations. In 1998, the two countries entered into Strategic Partnership, marking convergence of their views on a range of international issues apart from a close and growing bilateral relationship. India and France are partners in defence and armaments, contributing to India’s policy of strategic autonomy in the defence sector through numerous industrial cooperation.

Indian Defence Minister to attend ASEAN Defence Ministers Plus meeting in Cambodia

New Delhi, 21st Nov 2022: At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Cambodia Samdech Pichey Sena TEA Banh, Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh will pay an official visit to Cambodia from November 22-23, 2022. Cambodia, as the chair of ASEAN Defence Ministers Plus (ADMM Plus) meeting is hosting the 9th annual meeting at Siem Reap, Cambodia and the Raksha Mantri will address the forum on November 23, 2022. He will also call on the Prime Minister of Cambodia.To commemorate 30 years of India-ASEAN relations, India and Cambodia will co-chair the maiden India-ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting on November 22, 2022, presided over by Rajnath Singh. Various initiatives to boost India-ASEAN partnership are planned to be announced during the meeting. India became the dialogue partner of ASEAN in 1992 and the inaugural ADMM-Plus was convened in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 12, 2010. Since 2017, ADMM-Plus Ministers have been meeting annually to further the dialogue and cooperation amongst ASEAN and the Plus countries. India and ASEAN have elevated their relationship to ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’ in November 2022. Apart from the ADMM-Plus meeting and India-ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting, the Defence Minister will hold bilateral discussions with Defence Ministers of the participating countries. During the talks, Rajnath Singh will discuss defence cooperation matters and ways to further strengthen the mutually beneficial engagements.

Qatar Airways Flies Qatar National Football Team and 140 FIFA Legends to the FIFA World Cup 2022

16th November 2022,Doha,Qatar: Qatar Airways, the Official Airline of the Journey to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 marks one week to go until the greatest sporting show on Earth, and flies the Qatar National Football Team back home. The World’s Best Airline will also fly 140 FIFA Legends to take part in the FIFA Fans and Legends tournament to be held at the FIFA Fan Festival in Al Bidda Park. The reigning AFC Asian Cup champions arrived in Doha after completing a training camp in Spain, fully prepared to participate for their first time in the FIFA World Cup™. The Qatar National Football team will kick off its tournament play on 20 November in the opening match against Ecuador. The squad will also face other opponents in Group A, including Senegal and Netherlands. The airline also operates three specially-branded Boeing 777 aircraft hand-painted in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 livery.

Bahraini cargo airline invests in top-of-the-line aircraft horse stalls in response to growing customer demand

Manama,11th Nov 2022: Texel Air, a Bahraini Cargo Airline, has levelled up its horse charter ability with the purchase of HAY Horse Stalls from VRR www.vrr.aero in the Netherlands.HAY Horse Stalls are heavy-duty non-collapsible stalls allowing up to three horses to be transported per stall, a quarter million euro investment for Texel Air. George Chisholm, CEO of Chisholm Enterprises, the parent company of Texel air, says it was important for Texel Air to invest in a state-of-the-art solution for horse transport. “At Texel Air, we recognise that carrying large animals, especially horses, requires extreme care and consideration. After extensive research, we found that horses travel best in certified stalls, so it was a no-brainer to invest in the VRR HAY Horse stalls. It’s important for our clients who have chosen Texel Air to transport their livestock, that we offer the best capabilities and provide the utmost of care for both groom and animal. All deserve to have a safe and stress-free experience.” HAY Horse Stalls are certified by EASA. The HAY Horse Stalls have the availability of kick-doors, ramp entrances, vibration-damping base, easy water and feeding access, as well as adjustable ventilation to reduce stress and guarantee the safety of the horse during transport. VRR Horse Stalls have been designed in collaboration with grooms, using their input to ensure that care for the horse is considered at every step. The HAY Horse Stalls will be used on Texel Air’s full fleet of aircraft fitting up to 21 horses. per flight and grooms for each horse. Previously, Texel Air used collapsible stalls that were only suitable for internal aircraft use,which was a timely exercise, sometimes requiring up to five hours to prep the aircraft and load the horses. “HAY Horse Stalls are not only safer for the animals but more efficient when travelling with a large number of horses.” Chisholm explains.

Gulf Air signs MoU with MTU Maintenance for its A321ceo Fleet’s V2500 Engines

Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain – November 10, 2022: Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and MTU Maintenance, the global leader in customized solutions for aero engines, signed an exclusive contract for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of V2500-A5 engines. The four-year agreement covers comprehensive MRO services, LRU support, engine trend monitoring and on-site services, as well as spare engine support for Gulf Air’s V2500-powered A321ceo aircraft. Commenting on the agreement Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer Captain Waleed Al Alawi said “Gulf Air has been maintaining its V2500 Engines of A321ceo fleet at MTU Maintenance facility for the past 10 years under the Engine OEM contract. During these 10 years, MTU Maintenance has demonstrated they are the right partners for Gulf Air as we drive forward with our fleet renewal programme in preparation to welcome more new aircraft to replace and modernize our fleet. We trust them to take excellent technical care of our engines, and are convinced they will provide us with the reliable, flexible and cost-efficient services we expect.” From his side, Chief Program Officer at MTU Aero Engines Mr. Michael Schreyögg “We are very proud to have been selected by Gulf Air for this contract, which offers the best care package for their engines. We are extremely confident that our in-depth understanding of the V2500 engine and our many years of experience will enable us to provide Gulf Air with the flexible, cost-effective and highly customized engine MRO services they need.”

AAI observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2022

New Delhi,07th November, 2022: Airports Authority of India observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 from 31st October to 06th November 2022, with the theme “Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation” across all its airports and establishments. The event was chaired by Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman, AAI and attended by Amal Garg, IRS, CVO, AAI and Board Members of AAI i.e. A K Pathak, Member (Planning & HR)& K. Vinayak Rao, Member (Finance) alongwith other senior officers of AAI. Integrity Pledge was administered by the Chairman AAI to 60 Officers (approx.) on this occasion. The Chairman, AAI laid emphasis on importance of Vigilance in effective functioning of the organization. He called upon everyone to participate in the activities of VAW 2022 with earnestness and sincerity. Amal Garg, CVO, AAI mentioned about the achievements of Vigilance Department during the last one year. He brought out that AAI is marching ahead with resoluteness for”Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation”. He called upon all the employees to actively participate in the movement against corruption to achieve the mandate of the Commission in letter & spirit. During the vigilance awareness week various activities like elocution, debate, essay, quiz, drawing and slogan competition, walkathons were conducted for employees and students across all airports and establishments to sensitise employees, passengers and children regarding importance of vigilance and evils of corruption. Integrity pledge counters were setup at airports to administer integrity pledge to all stakeholders.

Jazeera Airways strengthens its India presence, celebrates with travel trade partners

Chennai, 6th Nov 2022: Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s low-cost airline, operating regionally and internationally recently celebrated the launch of direct flights to Bangalore and marking one year of successful operations to Chennai. Jazeera started its service to Bangalore on 3rd November 2022 with flights two times a week on Thursdays and Saturday. With the Bangalore launch, Jazeera Airways now operates from all destinations available under the bilateral arrangement between the two countries. In addition,Jazeera Airways also completed its one year of operations to Chennai. Israel Aerospace Industries to Exhibit at Bahrain International Airshow

TEL AVIV – 26th October, 2022 Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will exhibit at the Bahrain International Airshow, taking place November 9-11th. IAI will showcase a variety of its state-of-the-art aviation products, including civil aviation, radars and avionics, air defense systems, coastal guard and drone guard systems. This is the first time that an Israeli company is participating in the event. Travelport and Malaysia Airlines renew distribution agreement to expand partnership further

Langley UK, October 25, 2022: Travelport, a technology company and Malaysia Airlines announced that they have reached a multi-year renewal agreement that will continue to bring Malaysia Airlines’ content to Travelport- connected customers worldwide. The front cover highlights three different images, first for the Union Civil Aviation Minister ….. who is leading from the front to steer Indian Civil Aviation sector to witness one of the most interesting phases. He is also facing most tumultuous timing due to the ongoing financial stress in the Aviation sector due to ATF rising cost and long airspace restrictions resulting in mounting losses for Indian carriers. Despite of all the ground level challenges,the minister is addressing new things on regular basis which keeps the sector motivated. We have featured many such developmental works in this edition done under his guidance which will be interesting to read.

Our lead story on “ The West War” is another important feature which covers the ground level reality of the challenges faced by the Aviation sector. Its though time ahead and we believe it will pass soon .
