AIESL receives EASA part-145 approval for Trivandrum MRO facility

Air Canada expands its Latin American network

Delhi, July 15, 2025: Air Canada has announced its winter 2025-26 network expansion by resuming non-stop service to Lima, Peru with twice weekly flights from both Montreal and Toronto. The airline is also adding three new routes to Central America and Mexico including, Montreal-Belize, Toronto-Puerto Escondido*, and Vancouver-Tepic, Riviera Nayarit*, building on its recent Latin America expansion announcement. “Air Canada is further diversifying its global network this winter under its New Frontiers Strategy by capitalizing on strong leisure demand to sought-after vacation destinations in South and Central America and in Mexico’s Oaxaca and Pacific coast areas. Our new flights are designed to provide easy connections for both Canadian and European travellers, as well as to take advantage of cargo opportunities in the region,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, and President, Cargo at Air Canada. “Customers will have even more compelling choices when planning vacation travel this winter. Air Canada’s newest Mexico routes are opening doors to some of the country’s buzzworthy and under the radar vacation destinations. With new direct flights from Toronto, this bohemian paradise will now be within easy reach for Canadian travellers seeking off-the-beaten-path charm. On Mexico’s western coast, Air Canada’s new Vancouver-Tepic, Riviera Nayarit service opens a fresh gateway to the Riviera Nayarit—timed perfectly with the completion of a new highway linking Tepic to Puerto Vallarta in October 2025. Oceanfront gems such as artistic San Pancho, surf-friendly Sayulita, and upscale Punta Mita will be within a convenient 30-minute to one-hour drive from Tepic’s airport. This new route offers travellers an alternative point of access to explore the vibrant landscapes, pristine beaches, and rich cultural tapestry that make Nayarit one of Mexico’s most captivating regions. This winter, Air Canada will offer over 80,000 weekly seats on more than 55 daily flights to 52 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, representing the greatest number of sun destinations the airline has served.

SriLankan Cargo named finalist for Airline of the year – Asia at World Air Cargo Awards

New Delhi, 11 July 2025: SriLankan Cargo, the air freight arm of SriLankan Airlines, was named a finalist for Airline of the Year – Asia at the prestigious World Air Cargo Awards 2025, held recently at the air cargo Europe trade fair in Messe München, Munich, Germany. Nominees were selected by an international, independent panel of judges, with finalists determined through a transparent industry voting process. World Air Cargo Awards sets the benchmark for recognising excellence across the global air cargo community, with SriLankan Cargo once again demonstrating its position as one of the region’s best. Chaminda Perera, Head of Cargo at SriLankan Airlines, commented on this latest achievement, stating: “It is a significant achievement for SriLankan Cargo, underscoring our service standards and the trust we have earned among industry leaders. Qatar Airways completes Starlink installation programme for Boeing 777s

Doha, 11th July 202: Qatar Airways has completed the Starlink installation programme on 54 Boeing 777 aircraft and is now ready to provide the fastest Wi-Fi onboard at a record speed. Qatar Airways is now the largest operator of widebody aircraft equipped with Starlink technology further cementing its position as the global leader in Starlink-equipped long-haul and ultra-long-haul connectivity, and the only carrier in the Middle East and North Africa offering the service. Originally scheduled as a two-year programme, the installation was completed in nine months,nearly 50 per cent faster than planned. By cutting the retro it time from three days to just 9.5 hours per aircraft, the airline completed the rollout programme without disrupting operations. Qatar Airways Group CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said, “This new milestone demonstrates our strategic investment in rede ining our passengers’ expectations. We promised the fastest, most seamless in- light connectivity in the industry, and with Starlink we have delivered it faster and at an unmatched scale. Having completed our rollout programme for Boeing 777s, we are now fully focused on equipping our Airbus A350 leet with Starlink, bringing this game-changing experience to even more routes across our global network of over 170 destinations.” Passengers in both Premium and Economy cabins enjoy free, gate-to-gate Wi-Fi speeds of up to 500 Mbps per aircraft. Whether streaming, gaming, or working, they can expect a fast and reliable connection comparable, if not better, to their experience at home. Building on the success of the rollout programme for Boeing 777s, the airline is now equipping its Airbus A350 leet, aiming to complete Starlink installation within the next year.Since launching the world’s first Starlink-equipped Boeing 777 in October 2024, Qatar Airways has operated over 15,000 Starlink-connected lights, continuing to redefine the modern travel experience with world-class services and pioneering innovation.

Emirates Introduces Premium Economy on Kolkata Route Starting 18 July

Delhi, 8th July 2025: Emirates is expanding its Premium Economy offering to Kolkata, effective 18 July 2025. Following strong customer response in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad, this rollout marks another milestone in Emirates’ commitment to enhancing travel experiences for Indian passengers. Starting 18 July, passengers on flights EK573/572 between Dubai and Kolkata can travel in Premium Economy class, which features: • Wider cream leather seats, increased legroom, deeper recline, and cushioned leg rests • Curated in-flight dining on Royal Doulton china with premium beverages • 13.3-inch HD screens, Bluetooth headphone pairing, and improved Wi-Fi • Generous baggage allowance of 35kg (checked-in) + 10kg (carry-on) Flights EK573 (Kolkata to Dubai) will operate four times weekly—on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, departing at 20:45 hrs. Etihad Airways completes one year of operation between Jaipur- Abu Dhabi

Jaipur, 7th July 2025: Etihad Airways has marked the first anniversary of its nonstop service between Abu Dhabi and Jaipur, a key gateway in Northwest India. Since launching the route on 16 June 2024, Etihad has more than doubled frequencies—reflecting its deepening commitment to the Indian market and expanding connectivity for travelers from Rajasthan to over 100 destinations across its global network. The service began with four weekly flights and increased to ten per week by December 2024, just six months after launch—underscoring the growing strategic importance of Jaipur in Etihad’s India network. Norse Atlantic Airways to add Stockholm- Phuket Sector

Stockholm, 4th July 2025: Norse Atlantic Airways has confirmed its plans to operate a route from Stockholm to Bangkok, and further continuing its vision to invest in the Swedish air travel market by adding a new direct route to Phuket from Stockholm Arlanda Airport ahead of winter 2025. Air Canada celebrates Canada Day with limited-time fare discounts for customers flying from India

The front cover highlights three different images, first for the Union Civil Aviation Minister ….. who is leading from the front to steer Indian Civil Aviation sector to witness one of the most interesting phases. He is also facing most tumultuous timing due to the ongoing financial stress in the Aviation sector due to ATF rising cost and long airspace restrictions resulting in mounting losses for Indian carriers. Despite of all the ground level challenges,the minister is addressing new things on regular basis which keeps the sector motivated. We have featured many such developmental works in this edition done under his guidance which will be interesting to read.

Our lead story on “ The West War” is another important feature which covers the ground level reality of the challenges faced by the Aviation sector. Its though time ahead and we believe it will pass soon .
