Eve Air Mobility, Aerosolutions, and Bluenest by Globalvia Sign LoI for up to 50 eVTOLs and TechCare Services

Melbourne, June 30th, 2025: Eve Air Mobility has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Aerosolutions, which is developing an innovative eVTOL operator called Aeros Electric Airlines, and Bluenest by Globalvia, Globalvia’s Advanced Air Mobility infrastructure developer and vertiport operator, for the sale of up to 50 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and access to Eve’s comprehensive TechCare services—an all-in-one portfolio of services designed to streamline eVTOL operations, maintenance, and customer support. The agreement marks a significant step toward developing a robust Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) ecosystem in Costa Rica. “Joining forces with Aerosolutions and Bluenest by Globalvia allows us to accelerate the introduction of safe, sustainable, and efficient air mobility in Costa Rica,” said Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility. “We’re eager to see our eVTOL transform travel in regions like Guanacaste, easing congestion and bolstering the nation’s leadership in ecotourism.” The collaboration will focus initially on the Pacific region in northwest Costa Rica, connecting airports to premium resorts and eco-destinations via routes ranging from 20 to 50 kilometers. With tourism driving over three million foreign visitors annually, Costa Rica is the most visited nation in Central America. However, its extensive but often congested road network can lead to lengthy travel times. By introducing efficient, low-emission air taxi services, the initiative seeks to transform tourist and local mobility, reduce ground traffic congestion, and reinforce Costa Rica’s reputation as a leader in sustainable tourism. “This agreement marks a pivotal step in transforming regional air mobility for partners like Aerosolutions. By integrating our eVTOL aircraft and TechCare services into their operations, they can offer faster, more efficient, and more sustainable travel options, especially in areas where ground routes are congested or limited, ” said Megha Bhatia, chief commercial officer at Eve Air Mobility. “This partnership empowers Aerosolutions to dramatically cut travel times, streamline logistics, and enhance the overall passenger experience. It’s not just a smarter way to travel, it’s a bold leap into the future of connected, regional transportation.” Bluenest, AAM business line of Globalvia, will play a key role in developing vertiport infrastructure to -enable safe, sustainable and efficient operations. As the leading operator of Costa Rica’s highway (Ruta 27-Autopista del Sol), Globalvia’s integrated approach is expected to facilitate seamless intermodal connections between air and ground transport, further enhancing the end-to-end traveler experience. “This partnership with Eve Air Mobility and Bluenest by Globalvia is a significant leap forward for Costa Rica’s commitment to sustainable tourism,” said Antonio Mota, CEO of Aerosolutions. “Aerosolutions is proud to lead the operational deployment of these eVTOLs, which will reduce travel times and congestion in key tourist regions like Guanacaste and reinforce the nation’s reputation as a global leader in eco-friendly innovation.” Aerosolutions will have access to Eve’s TechCare suite as part of the agreement. The partners will also collaborate through dedicated workshops covering critical areas such as vertiport development, airspace integration, pilot training, and certification requirements and operational planning, laying the groundwork for successful AAM deployment in the region. “Bluenest by Globalvia is committed to building the sustainable infrastructure of tomorrow, and our work in Costa Rica with Eve Air Mobility and Aerosolutions is a prime example to further progress in our collaboration with local entities started in March 2024 where real vertiport and air taxi tests in Guanacaste (Liberia airport and Reserva Conchal) took place. In addition, it reinforces our integration with Eve’s UATM software (Vector) for booking Eve eVTOL operations at our vertiport, shown at Airspace World in Lisbon last May. By developing cutting-edge vertiports, we are enabling safe and efficient eVTOL operations, contributing to Costa Rica’s green agenda, and laying the groundwork for a truly interconnected and eco-conscious future of travel,” said Bluenest managing director, Jose Ignacio Rodriguez. Eve’s eVTOL aircraft utilizes a lift+cruise configuration with eight dedicated propellers for vertical flight and fixed wings to fly on cruise, with no moving parts in flight. The aircraft includes an electric pusher powered by dual electric motors that provide propulsion redundancy, ensuring the highest levels of performance and safety. The company is advancing the current stage of the eVTOL development, which involves a series of comprehensive tests with the prototype to evaluate every aspect of the aircraft’s operation and performance, from flight capabilities to safety features.

Manitoba Confirms Intent to Purchase De Havilland Canadair 515 Waterbombers

Paris, June 16, 2025: – De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (“De Havilland Canada”) is pleased to announce the province of Manitoba has confirmed their intent to purchase three De Havilland Canadair 515 (DHC 515) – the next generation of the world-renowned aerial firefighting aircraft. This provincial commitment marks another milestone in the DHC 515 program, signaling additional domestic support for Canadian aerospace innovation and the urgent need for modern, reliable tools in the fight against increasingly severe wildfires across North America. “We are proud to be working with the Province of Manitoba, a long-term operator of CL-215 and CL-415 aerial firefighting aircraft, for the renewal of its fleet,” said Jean-Philippe Côté, Vice President, Programs and Business Improvement at De Havilland Canada. “The De Havilland Canadair 515 represents the future of wildfire suppression, and we are proud of the trust Manitoba has placed in us to support their hard-working firefighting teams.” The DHC 515 builds upon the proven legacy of the CL-215 and CL-415 aircraft, featuring modern avionics, enhanced performance, and increased efficiency. With climate change contributing to longer and more intense wildfire seasons, the De Havilland Canadair 515 is specifically designed to meet the operational challenges faced by today’s aerial firefighters. “Prior to this record breaking wildfire season in our province, Manitoba has been very proactive in ordering the three DHC-515 waterbombers,” said Earl W. Simmons, Executive Director of the Manitoba Wildfire Service. “Given the annual increase in the length of the wildfire season along with the number of and the intensity of these wildfires we are pleased to work with De Havilland Canada to put another tool in our firefighting toolbox to respond to these events.” This new commitment also represent a major investment in the Canadian economy. De Havilland Canada is designing, building, and assembling the DHC 515 entirely in Canada, reinforcing the country’s aerospace leadership while creating high-quality Canadian jobs across engineering, advanced manufacturing, and skilled trades. The program supports a broad national supply chain, drawing on the strengths of Canadian suppliers and service providers coast to coast. “By building the DHC 515 in Canada, we are not only delivering a world-class firefighting aircraft — we’re investing in Canadian workers, growing Canadian expertise, and strengthening our national industrial base,” said Côté. Manitoba is expected to finalize procurement details in the coming months, contributing to a growing international interest in the aircraft. These commitments support the continuation of De Havilland Canada’s domestic production line at its Calgary-based facility and help secure highly skilled Canadian aerospace jobs. DHC is also in discussion with many other undisclosed operators for further orders of DHC-515 aircraft and are confident it will be in position to announce more orders in the upcoming months. The new orders will bolster Canada’s aerial firefighting fleet and reaffirm the aircraft’s status as the gold standard in amphibious firefighting worldwide.

CAE forecasts 1.5 million civil aviation professionals needed over next 10 years

Le Bourget, France, June 16, 2025: An estimated 1.5 million civil aviation professionals will be needed worldwide by 2034, according to CAE’s biennial Aviation Talent Forecast, released today at the Paris International Air Show. The comprehensive 2025 edition of the forecast analyzes the need for pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians, cabin crew, and, for the first time, air traffic controllers, predicting that 71,000 controllers will be needed globally over the next 10 years. The 2025 CAE Aviation Talent Forecast reports that 1,292,000 commercial aviation professionals will be needed – 267,000 pilots, 347,000 aviation maintenance technicians, and 678,000 cabin crew – with the largest percentage required to meet rapidly rising demand in the Asia Pacific region. In addition, 102,000 business aviation professionals are expected to be needed worldwide over the next 10 years, including 33,000 pilots and 69,000 aircraft maintenance technicians. “The need for 1.5 million new aviation professionals by 2034 is being driven by record demand for air travel and a significant wave of retirements that is expected across all categories. With commercial and business aviation fleets expected to see double digit increases over the next 10 years, the industry must take action to attract, train, and retain personnel. Highly skilled aviation professionals are not just a necessity for the safety of the air transport system, they are the foundation for the successful expansion and resilience of the global aviation sector,” explains Marie-Christine Cloutier, Vice-President – Strategy, Performance, Air Traffic Services & Marketing at CAE. “To meet the demand, the industry needs to be proactive and creative. Adaptability and optimized training will be key to supplying the demand,” she says. Attracting talent is one challenge. Another is ensuring qualified candidates make it through graduation and into the workforce. Across all professions covered in the report, dropout and failure rates are higher than they should be. For example, in the United States alone, a staggering 30% of paid air traffic control students do not complete their training, according to the National Airspace System Safety Review Team. “We need a comprehensive training environment that caters to the way new generations learn and thrive. At CAE, part of our solution is investing significantly in innovation and technology. Some of our latest advancements include CAE’s immersive pilot training app using Apple Vision Pro, and the CAE Prodigy Image Generator, our ultra-realistic 3D visual system using gaming technology,” Cloutier explains. The Aviation Talent Forecast is a strategic tool for stakeholders across the aviation ecosystem which analyzes the upcoming talent demand, the drivers behind that demand, and actionable strategies the industry can adopt to attract and retain talent. The report also offers insightful perspectives on the industry’s transformation through advanced training, sustainable practices, and diverse talent acquisition. It also underscores how technology, sustainability, and diversity are shaping the future of the industry and strengthening the talent pipeline.
