Jazeera Airways adds five European destinations in its summer schedule

Kuwait, 22 March 2023: Jazeera Airways is gearing up for the 2023 summer season with three new European destinations – Munich, Germany, Belgrade, Serbia and Tirana, Albania. In addition,the airline will also restart its flights to Prague, Czech Republic and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.With the new cities added to Jazeera’s network, the airline now serves 62 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Central & South Asia and Africa. Rohit Ramachandran, Chief Executive Officer, Jazeera Airways said: “At Jazeera we always endeavor to expand our network and offer passengers more affordable choices for direct flights from Kuwait.This summer, we have these great destinations in Europe on offer for the leisure market in Kuwait, as well as connecting passengers from around our network. We expect there will be a strong demand for all of them.” Munich, the Bavarian capital is a very popular leisure and business destination in Germany and offers a variety of activities for different interests – both outdoors or indoors. One of Europe’s oldest cities, Belgrade is centrally located and one of the easiest places to reach in the Balkans. Tirana, the Albanian capital is also the country’s largest city. Known for its colorful architecture, Tirana extends at the Plain of Tirana in the center of Albania between a mountain in the east, hills in the south, and a valley to the north overlooking the Adriatic Sea. “The City of a Hundred Spires”, beautiful Prague lies at the heart of Europe and is full of great places to visit and delicious food to try. Sarajevo, a prominent center of culture in the Balkans, influences entertainment, media, fashion and the arts region-wide. Flights to Sarajevo will restart on 20 April 2023 and to Prague will begin on 8 June 2023. Jazeera Airways also offers good connections from these cities to other destinations in its network convenient transits through Kuwait.

Qatar Airways to start flight to Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah,21st March 2023: Starting from 1 November 2023, Qatar Airways will operate daily flights to Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, signifying a major boost to Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority’s (RAKTDA) strategy to enhance global connectivity to the Emirate. Akasa Air adds Bhubaneshwar as its16th destination

Delhi, 14 March 2023:Akasa Air announced the addition of Bhubaneshwar as its 16th destination to its network. The airline will operate flights between Pune-Bhubaneshwar and Bengaluru-Bhubaneshwar from 17 April 2023 with a total of 14 weekly flights. Commenting on the launch, Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said, “As the fastest growing airline in the country we are delighted to add Bhubaneshwar to our ever-expanding network, marking our arrival in Orissa.We look forward to adding more destinations to the flight map of the country.”

Dr. Srinivas Hanumankar takes over as Member (HR) at AAI

New Delhi, 10th March, 2023: Dr. H. Srinivas, an officer of the ‘Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS)’ belonging to the Indian Civil Service Examination, 1991 has taken over the charge of Member (Human Resources) from 10th March, 2023 on the Board of Airports Authority of India (AAI). Prior to this appointment, Shri Hanumankar was serving as Chief Personnel Officer in Indian Railways. As Member (Human Resources) of AAI, Dr. Srinivas will be the overall in-charge of coordinating and implementing Personnel and Industrial Relations policies, commercial management functions in the organization. He is expected to play a leadership role and provide effective support in achieving sustained growth of the organization’s business. Dr. Srinivas’s core areas of expertise range from Policy Making to Managing and Developing Human Resources and Relations of large organizations having diverse skill sets; Strategizing and Managing Change in large organizations through Training, Skilling/Upskilling, IT and Organization Development interventions, etc. He has worked in various capacities in three different Zones of the Indian Railways, each with around a lakh manpower strength and as Director General in one of the institutions of Ministry of Labour & Employment, GoI. Dr. Srinivas has represented India at various international forums and is also a recipient of the “Silver Star Award” presented by the Hon’ble President of India in the year 2019. Dr H. Srinivas holds a Bachelor (Hon’s), Master’s and Doctorate Degree in Earth Sciences, apart from a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management. He has had illustrious Academic and Professional careers and a vast array of accomplishments to his credit.

Saudi Aerospace Engineering Industries and Collins Aerospace sign FlightSense and ASCENTIA Agreements

10th March, 2023, Dubai: Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI) and Collins Aerospace announced a 10-year FlightSense agreement for Saudia Airlines’ entire A320, A330 and Boeing 787 fleet. Collins will provide SAEI with asset pooling support and services for aircraft. The relationship has potential to expand as SAEI extends its client base to additional airline operators. The SAEI roadmap for growth uses digitalization and predictive maintenance to elevate performance and reliability. To this end the collaboration includes Collins Aerospace’s fully integrated ASCENTIA Performance Health Monitoring (PHM) system, providing a 24/7 fleet monitoring team to SAEI. The PHM system, which uses advanced analytics and human experience, will provide SAEI and Saudia Airlines with advanced maintenance recommendations to reduce fleet downtime. “SAEI, as a modern MRO entity, is focused on technology-enabled solutions to improve forecasting and planning accuracy and reduce inefficiency. The implementation of FlightSense® and the maintenance services with Collins aligns with these objectives,” commented Fahd H. Akasa Air completes six months of operations

Delhi,1st March 2023: Akasa Air, India’s newest airline, completed six months of operations to become the fastest growing airline in the country. With the delivery of one aircraft every 15 days, the airline has reached a fleet size of 18 aircraft and has flown over 1 million passengers since its launch in August 2022. With 36 daily flights from Bengaluru, Akasa Air is the third largest domestic carrier in the city. The airline has flown a total of 0.5 million passengers from the city, which contributes to 70 percent of the total number of passengers flown across its network to date. With a growing demand for air travel to and from Bengaluru, the airline has significantly scaled up its operations from the city, currently connecting it with daily flights to 12 destinations across the country. Vinay Dube, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Akasa Air said, “We have successfully executed our ambitious and unprecedented scale up plans over the last 200 days. As we have grown and delivered to our plans, Akasa Air has become the preferred carrier for an increasing number of travellers across the country. Storm Aviation receives UKAS approval

UKAS is a national accreditation body that assesses against nationally and internationally agreed standards and organisations that provide conformity assessment for calibration services among other activities. In most countries, ISO/IEC 17025 is the standard for which most laboratories must hold accreditation in order to be deemed technically competent. In many cases, suppliers and regulatory authorities will not accept tests or calibration results from a laboratory that is not accredited. Storm Aviation’s calibration laboratory has met this requirement and is now authorised to perform accredited calibrations in accordance with its scope of work. With safety being at the forefront of our business, being UKAS accredited gives our customers the added confidence that their tools and equipment are being calibrated to the highest level, whilst meeting UK and international standards. The front cover highlights three different images, first for the Union Civil Aviation Minister ….. who is leading from the front to steer Indian Civil Aviation sector to witness one of the most interesting phases. He is also facing most tumultuous timing due to the ongoing financial stress in the Aviation sector due to ATF rising cost and long airspace restrictions resulting in mounting losses for Indian carriers. Despite of all the ground level challenges,the minister is addressing new things on regular basis which keeps the sector motivated. We have featured many such developmental works in this edition done under his guidance which will be interesting to read.

Our lead story on “ The West War” is another important feature which covers the ground level reality of the challenges faced by the Aviation sector. Its though time ahead and we believe it will pass soon .
