SaveSage partners with IndiGo to reward customers on everyday bill payments

Delhi, August 11, 2026: SaveSage has  announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with IndiGo BluChip, enabling users to earn IndiGo BluChips on credit card and utility bill payments made through the SaveSage app. Under the partnership, members will earn 1 IndiGo BluChip for every Rs 1,000 of credit card and utility bill payments, with the opportunity to earn up to 1,000 IndiGo BluChips every month. The earned IndiGo BluChips can be redeemed for eligible flights and other applicable benefits within the IndiGo BluChips programme. The feature will be available immediately to all SaveSage users. The launch comes at a time when India’s credit card ecosystem continues to expand, with more than 120 million active cards and over 1 million new cards issued every month. Yet card penetration remains below 6% of the population compared with over 40% in China and more than 70% in the United States, highlighting significant room for growth. As consumers increasingly manage multiple cards and seek greater value from recurring expenses, credit card bill payments have remained one of the few large monthly transactions that generate no rewards. The partnership addresses this gap by enabling customers to earn IndiGo BluChips on everyday bill payments. Commenting on the launch, Ashish Lath, Founder & CEO, SaveSage, said, “Credit card bills are among the largest monthly transactions for millions of Indians, yet until now they have generated practically no rewards. Through this partnership with IndiGo, we’re changing that by helping users turn payments they already make every month into meaningful free flights. As consumers become more focused on maximising value from every transaction, we’re excited to introduce a proposition that makes travel rewards a part of daily financial life.”  The partnership reflects a broader shift towards integrating financial services with travel rewards, opening new ways for consumers to extract value from everyday spending while giving loyalty programmes a way to engage members beyond traditional travel.

AAPA releases June 2026 traffic results for Asia Pacific Airlines

Kuala Lumpur, 5th August 2026: The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) has released its preliminary June 2026 traffic figures which highlights softening in international passenger demand. In some regional markets, there is weaker traffic  reflected capacity reductions and higher airfares following the escalation in fuel prices, even as travel approached the peak mid-year season. Overall, Asia Pacific airlines carried an aggregate total of 30.5 million international passengers in June, representing a 1.1% decline compared to the same month last year. However, demand in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) rose by 1.1% year-on-year, underscoring continued resilience in longer-haul travel. Growth in demand outpaced a marginal 0.3% expansion in available seat capacity, resulting in a 0.7 percentage point increase in the average international passenger load factor to 82.6% for the month. Meanwhile, international air cargo demand remained firm in June, supported in part by robust AI-related semiconductor and hardware shipments. For the month, demand, as measured in freight tonne kilometres (FTK), increased by 3.2% year-on-year, while offered freight capacity edged 0.2% higher, resulting in a 1.8 percentage point increase in the average international freight load factor to 62.6%. Commenting on the results, Mr. Wong Hong, Director General of AAPA, said, “Passenger traffic moderated in June as higher airfares and capacity adjustments in some regional markets weighed on demand. Even so, international travel has continued to hold up well, with Asia Pacific airlines carrying 192.5 million international passengers during the first half of 2026, 3.2% more than in the corresponding period last year.” “Meanwhile, international air cargo markets continued to perform well, with demand growing by 7.0% in the first half of the year, supported by continued demand for AI-related semiconductor shipments and other high-value, time-sensitive goods amid evolving trade dynamics.” Looking ahead, Mr. Wong Hong said, “Airlines continue to face challenging operating conditions, with persistent uncertainty surrounding the Middle East conflict contributing to fuel price volatility and continued pressure on operating costs. These headwinds, together with more moderate business confidence and heightened geopolitical and trade policy uncertainty, may temper growth in travel and air cargo markets in the coming months. Against this backdrop, carriers remain focused on maintaining network flexibility, exercising capacity discipline, and enhancing operational efficiency in response to evolving demand patterns.”

Air India enters into codeshare partnership with Azerbaijan Airlines

New Delhi, 3rd August 2026: Air India and Azerbaijan Airlines have entered into a new codeshare partnership. The cooperation offers greater flexibility, enhanced connectivity, and more convenient travel options between Azerbaijan and India, as well as onward destinations through both airlines’ networks, while strengthening business, tourism, and cultural ties between the two countries. The new codeshare partnership enables Air India to place its ‘AI’ designator code on Azerbaijan Airlines-operated flights between India and Baku, thus opening Baku as a new destination for Air India customers, a market currently not served by Air India’s own metal. Under this codeshare, Air India’s ‘AI’ code will be applied to Azerbaijan Airlines daily flights operating between Delhi and Baku, and between Mumbai and Baku. Customers from Delhi, Mumbai, and beyond can now travel conveniently to Baku with an Air India ticket, on a flight bearing an Air India flight number, operated by Azerbaijan Airlines. The codeshare agreement builds on an existing interline agreement between the two carriers, which allows customers of both airlines to travel seamlessly on a single itinerary that combines flights operated by the two airlines. For instance, a passenger travelling from Bangkok can fly Air India to Delhi and connect onward to Baku on an Azerbaijan Airlines service with one itinerary, seamlessly. Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India, said: “At Air India, we believe every corner of the world should be within reach of our customers. Partnerships like this one with Azerbaijan Airlines are central to that vision; they allow us to extend our network beyond the destinations we fly to ourselves. Through this codeshare, our customers travelling to Baku will enjoy convenience and reliability from booking their ticket to check-in and touchdown. This is part of a broader effort to keep strengthening connectivity between India and the rest of the world.” Jamil Manizade, Chief Commercial Officer, Azerbaijan Airlines, said: “India is one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets and an increasingly important destination for both business and leisure travel. Our partnership with Air India is an important step in expanding Azerbaijan Airlines’ international connectivity through strategic partnerships. By bringing together the strengths of our networks, we are offering passengers greater choice, enhanced connectivity and a more seamless travel experience between Azerbaijan, India and beyond.” Since its privatisation in 2022, Air India has significantly expanded its global alliance network. Today, the airline maintains 26 codeshare partnerships and more than 120 interline agreements with leading carriers worldwide, providing seamless access for Air India customers to over 1,000 destinations globally.

Continuing an upward trend for seven consecutive quarters, the figure set a new record once again, rising 7% from the level reported in 1Q26 and 16% higher than the level reached in the same period last year. In Commercial Aviation, the backlog totaled US$15.1 billion, up 15% from a year earlier. The result was driven by Azorra’s new order for 15 E195-E2 aircraft, pushing the E2 program beyond the milestone of 500 firm orders, with customers across all continents. During the Farnborough Airshow, Embraer disclosed Fuji Dream Airlines as the customer behind an order for two E175 aircraft. The jets had already been included in the backlog and were previously listed as firm orders from an undisclosed customer. Commercial Aviation ended the quarter with a 1.8x book-to-bill ratio based on the last 12 months. In Executive Aviation, the order backlog increased to US$7.8 billion, 5% above the level recorded in 2Q25. The business unit’s outlook is further strengthened by the triple certification of the new Praetor 600E and Praetor 500E models by aviation regulators during the second quarter. Introduced to the market in 2026, both jets have now been certified by Brazil’s Civil Aviation Authority, the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States, and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. Executive Aviation posted a 1.1x book-to-bill ratio over the last 12 months. In Defense & Security, the backlog totaled US$6.1 billion, representing a 42% increase from a year earlier, driven by a landmark agreement with the United Arab Emirates involving the C-390 Millennium. The deal includes 10 firm orders and 10 options, representing the largest international order from a single country for the multi-mission aircraft and signaling its entry into the Middle East market. Defense & Security reported a 2.6x book-to-bill ratio over the last 12 months. Also at a record level, the Services & Support backlog rose to US$5.5 billion, up 12% compared with the second quarter of 2025. During 2Q26, the business unit announced a long-term support agreement with Jazz Aviation, which became the first customer in Canada to join Embraer’s Collaborative Inventory Planning program. Additionally, Embraer signed a new support agreement for the Brazilian Air Force’s (FAB) KC-390 Millennium fleet, covering both aircraft already in service and future deliveries. As a result, the Services & Support business unit ended the quarter with a 1.3x book-to-bill ratio for the last 12 months.
