    DHL Express launches non-contact delivery in India

    Mumbai, July 1st, 2021: DHL Express, the international express service provider launched OTP-based non-contact delivery service in India, making it the first international logistics player to offer this service in the country.The launch of the non-contact delivery service will help to ensure maximum employee and customer safety, amidst the new normal. With customers becoming increasingly conscious about hygiene and safety protocols, DHL Express’ OTP-based non-contact deliveries leverages digital platforms to reduce the need for contact between customers and couriers, leave little room for error and are also ecologically safe in the long run. Commenting on this new offering, R.S Subramanian, Senior Vice-President & Managing Director, DHL Express India said, “The ongoing pandemic has made businesses rethink and re-invent operations. Safety of our employees and customers has always been our top priority, while ensuring business continuity. The launch of non-contact deliveries is a step towards enhancing customer experience, while maintaining safety standards at the time of delivery. It is a win-win for all.” Talking about the implementation, Manish Patel, Vice President, Operations, DHL Express India said, “The launch of non-contact delivery is in line with our ‘People First, Safety First’ approach.     Interim Cargo Domestic Terminal Commissioned At Rajahmundry Airport

    25th June 2021, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh After a long wait domestic air cargo terminal at Rajahmundry Airport in Andhra Pradesh got finally commissioned on 25th June 2021. Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), the national aviation regulator issued the security clearance to operate the cargo terminal at the airport. The air cargo terminal will be operated by AAI Cargo Logistics & Allies Services Company Limited (AAICLAS) , a Subsidiary of Airports Authority of India. Initially, IndiGo airlines will handle Cargo operations to various destinations from Rajahmundry Airport. On the first day of its operation, consignment of 5000 doses Covid-19 Vaccine (Covaxin) were received as first Inbound cargo from Hyderabad and auto spare parts as first outbound cargo booked for Hyderabad. This Cargo Terminal will help to boost the economy of Trade and Industry of East & West Godavari Districts of Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Manoj Kumar Nayak, Airport Director, Rajahmundry Airport said, “This cargo terminal will help in boosting up of trade & industry further enhancing the overall economy of East & West Godavari Districts. It will provide direct benefit to the local farmers as well as generate avenues for the direct / indirect employment in the region. In addition, it will generate revenue for AAI as well as AAICLAS. Mr. Manoj Nayak further added, “Due to strategic location of Rajahmundry Airport, the new cargo terminal will facilitate convenient transfer of various perishable and non-perishable cargo all accross India”.

    IAG CARGO CONTINUES AID EFFORT TO INDIA WITH FLIGHT CARRYING MEDICAL SUPPLIES

    •IAG Cargo and its sister airline British Airways partners with charities including Oxfam, Khalsa Aid and Christian Aid to fly emergency equipment •Boeing 777-200 aircraft full of critical care equipment, PPE and oxygen concentrators •Fuel partner, Air bp supported the flight and IAG Cargo and British Airways have ensured the flight is carbon offset Monday 24 May 2021: IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG) and its sister airline British Airways has transported further aid to India for the second time in two weeks. The total weight of the cargo-only flight was 18 tonnes, made up of five thousand pieces of urgent medical aid as the crisis continues to grip India. The B777-200 was loaded with PPE supplies and oxygen concentrators for frontline hospital workers from charities including Oxfam, Khalsa Aid, Christian Aid and LPSUK. The flight departed London-Heathrow at 5pm on Friday 21 May and landed in Delhi at 05:45 am (local time) on Saturday 22nd May. IAG Cargo and British Airways has worked with fuel partner, BP to ensure the flight is carbon offset. John Cheetham, Chief Commercial Officer at IAG Cargo said: “We all have a part to play in the continued fight against COVID-19, and I am grateful that we are able to support our Indian friends again with a further 26 tonnes of urgent medical aid during this very difficult time. “I am hugely grateful to all those who have worked hard to make this second relief flight to India happen – IAG Cargo will continue to work with our partners to support India with much needed medical equipment.” IAG Cargo and British Airways have continued to keep a vital air link open between London and India throughout the pandemic, sending aid on scheduled flights, but this is a special charter that has been funded by British Airways and IAG Cargo.
